SUMUL- SUDICO COW HEIFER/BUFFALO HEIFER SCHEME:
The rearing of cow heifers and buffalo heifers is an essential component of a profitable animal husbandry enterprise. To encourage the scientific rearing of cow and buffalo heifers, prevent losses in animal purchases, mitigate fraud, and increase the population of high-quality livestock, we have introduced this scheme in collaboration with the Surat District Coop Bank.Under this scheme, 900 kg of Elite Dan and 18 kg of mineral mixture are provided per cow or buffalo heifer in phases. The total cost of this support amounts to around Rs. 20,000, which is being offered by the Surat District Coop Bank at a nominal interest rate of 8%. The interest is shared by Sumul and the Surat District Coop Bank, with the aim of accelerating cow and buffalo heifer rearing by providing interest-free feed to dairy farmers. In the current year, the scheme has incorporated 185 cow and buffalo heifers from members belonging to 91 societies.
