NEW PROJECTS & EXPANSION ACTIVITIES:

The Surat-Tapi District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Ltd. (Sumul Dairy, Surat) has been continuously expanding its activities in milk procurement and distribution. To further enhance milk processing, introduce new products in the market, and increase the plant's handling capacity for milk, buttermilk, and other products, advanced technology and modern machinery have been introduced. Expansion work has been carried out in different departments in a phased manner. The details are summarized below.

  • Refrigeration Plant Expansion at Sumul Dairy, Surat: An order has been placed, with necessary civil works and machinery installed and commissioned. This expansion boosts milk processing capacity.
  • Lassi Cup Packing Machinery at Sumul Dairy, Surat: A machine with a capacity of 4,800 cups per hour has been installed and operationalized to pack Sumul Lassi in 200 ml plastic cups.
  • New Amul Yogurt Plant at Navi Pardi Dairy: Mechanical machinery has been ordered to establish a 20 metric tons per day plant, replacing the old chilling center. Installation and commissioning will occur shortly, meeting peak-season market demands on time.
  • Cattle Feed Factory Expansion at Bajipura: Line 3 (4 mm pellet) machinery has been installed and operationalized, with a capacity of 25 MTPD diverted from Line-2. This ensures timely delivery to societies during peak seasons.
  • Rooftop Solar Power Systems: Installed from 6 KW to 30 KW in 80 Surat-Tapi societies with attached BCUs, based on requirements. Technical scrutiny is underway for ground-mounted solar plants at Sumul Dairy Surat, Navi Pardi Dairy, THR Plant Chalthan, and Sumul Grain Factory Bajipura under Solar Policy-2021.
  • Refrigeration Plant Expansion at Lahe Plant: Order placed for expansion, including electrical and mechanical works; machinery installed and commissioned to support future milk processing growth.
  • Water Softening Plant at Lahe Plant: Order placed for a 30 cubic meters per hour system for the water supply. Machinery will be installed and commissioned shortly.
  • Fully Automatic Three-Circuit CIP System at Lahe Plant: Order placed; machinery will be installed and operationalized soon, improving milk quality.
  • Cold Room and Curd Incubation Room at Lahe Plant: Sumul Dairy, Surat Sangh has placed an order to build a cold room and curd incubation room for storing milk and curd. Necessary machinery has been installed and operationalized, ensuring market requirements are met on time during peak seasons.
